Create Users

This section explains how to create a user.

Prerequisites

You should have the User Management permission on the KubeSphere platform. For more information, refer to Users and Platform Roles.

Steps

  1. Log in to the KubeSphere web console with a user who has the User Management permission.

  2. Click Users and Roles.

  3. Click Users in the left navigation pane.

  4. Click Create on the page.

  5. In the Create User dialog, fill in the user’s information, and then click OK.

    Parameter Description

    Username

    The name of the user. The username can only contain lowercase letters, numbers, hyphens (-), and periods (.), must start and end with a lowercase letter or number, and can be up to 32 characters long.

    Email

    The email address of the user. The email address can be used to log in to the KubeSphere web console.

    Platform Role

    The role of the user on the KubeSphere platform. The platform role determines the user’s permissions in KubeSphere.

    Password

    The password of the user. The password must contain numbers, uppercase letters, lowercase letters, and special characters, and be between 8 and 64 characters long.

    Description

    The description of the user. The description can contain any characters and be up to 256 characters long.

The user will be displayed in the list after the creation.
